1.4.3. SPECIAL REGULATIONS FOR IFR APT QUALIFICATION
1.4.3.1. GENERALTo operate under IFR, following APT requirements must be fulfilled:- ACFT must meet performance of 6^ for initial APCH and 4.0^ for final APCH
and landing;- Operator's contingency procedures (if required by type of flight operation)
must be calculated and available;- Pilot must hold a valid pilot qualification for the applicable type of operation
and flight procedures.When pilot is not in a position to land, EMERGENCY must be declared.To achieve APT qualification, operators shall contact APT authority:
1.4.3.2. ACFT REQUIREMENTSAny ACFT to be operated under IFR shall be able to comply with published IFR pro-cedures of para 1.4.2.2. or with approved company contingency procedures.MAX KT, as published on relevant charts, shall not be exceeded during corre-sponding flight manoeuvres.Procedures are designed for speed of CAT A, B and C ACFT. Additional speedrestrictions shall be observed during APCH and missed APCH.ACFT to be operated on an instrument APCH procedure shall be able to fly a 6^ GPin initial APCH and a 4.0^ in landing configuration.GP antenna is located 2NM in front of RWY.
1.4.3.3. PILOT QUALIFICATIONPilot intending to operate under IFR shall hold a valid pilot qualification accord-ing to the requirements of para 1.4.2.2.
Pilot Qualification Type A:Pilot qualification type A is directly controlled by APT authority and includes atheoretical self-instruction on- General operational requirements (FOCA, APT authority);- Local weather phenomena and dangers;- Orographic and topographic situation, including all relevant obstacles;- APCH and departure procedures (VFR, IFR).To apply for the pilot qualification type A, pilot shall contact APT authority orconsult Sion AP’s qualification web site www.sion-qualification.ch.
Pilot Qualification Type B:MIM training requirements for APT qualification are collected in a so-called"Training Requirements Application Manual" (TRAM), that can be requested fromAPT authority. It can also be found on website www.sion-qualification.ch.Be aware: The Sion Type B Qualification obtained on a propeller ACFT is not validfor a Jet ACFT.However, a Type B Qualification obtained on a jet is valid for a propeller ACFT,starting from the principle that the propeller ACFT is able to comply with therequested performances.

1.4.3.4. APT QUALIFICATION RECENCYIt is o perator/pilot's responsibility to comply any time with APT qualificationrecency requirements.
Pilots Part of Private Operator:Pilots are recent for IFR procedures and IGS operation, regardless of position,rank and function, if at least one APCH into and one departure from SION are con-ducted within a 12 months period (valid until the end of the month), under normalIFR operation.In case of an interruption of recency of more than 12 months, a new qualificationtype A or B is requested.
1.4.4. INSTRUMENT GUIDANCE SYSTEM (IGS) RWY 25
1.4.4.1. IGS COMPONENTS- SIO VOR DME for initial line-up;- ILS (LOC/GP/DME) for final line-up and from MASAB to MAP LOC opening
angle 2^;- GP position: 3.2NM/5988m before LOC antenna.
1.4.4.2. RESTRICTIONSLOC and GP may only be used in the following area: Angle of {8^ of APCH axisand distance of 30 to 6NM DME LOC during APCH.MIM angle 5^.
1.4.4.3. PROCEDUREDue to the limited usable area of the LOC, the initial line-up uses SIO.When inside the usable LOC area, establish on LOC.IGS procedure may be flown as ILS procedure.The published altitudes at D22.0 ISI, D19.0 ISI and D14.2 ISI are strictly to beobserved.After reaching DA(H) proceed to RWY maintaining terrain clearance visually. AtDA(H) RWY may not be in sight. After passing DA(H) continue on track 246^ usingLOC centerline as back-up until D5.1 ISI (ABEAM village St. Leonard, 3.9NM toRWY). Then turn LEFT to visually intercept the extended RWY axis passing slightlySouth of SION Hospital. Follow PAPI RWY 25 for final descent segment (4.0^).GP antenna is located 2NM in front of RWY.
1.4.4.4. RADIO COMMUNICATION FAILURE- Set transponder on 7600';- Proceed back to GRANA, remain North of R-089 SIO and maintain the last
assigned FL (MIM FL180);- Then carry out a full IGS procedure.

Altimeter error may be significant under conditions of extremely cold tem-peratures.
1.4.5. RNAV (RNP) RWY 25
1.4.5.1. APPROVED USERS, EQUIPMENT AND OPERATIONS- Operators shall ensure that they hold all the necessary operational approvals
as part of the Operations Specifications from its authority including the Baro-VNAV approval in order to conduct the RNAV (RNP) approach to LSGS (ref ICAOPBN Manual document 9613).
- The operator must have a Special Authorization from his authority in order touse the RNP AR approaches to LSGS (ref EASA AMC 20-26).
- The operator is responsible of conducting a Flight Operation Safety Assess-ment (FOSA).
- The RNAV (RNP) approach procedures require a navigation accuracy of RNP 0.3and RF-leg capability.
- The vertical guidance is based on Baro-VNAV with GNSS and requires RNAVequipment which uses barometric altimeter input.
1.4.5.2. COMMUNICATION FAILURE PROCEDURE- Set transponder on 7600.- Proceed to GRANA, remain North of R-089 SIO and maintain the last assigned
FL (MIM FL180).- Hold for 5 minutes.- Then carry out full RNAV (RNP) procedure.
