Introduction
Although many people think they don't like fresh citrus, they often change their minds once
they've tasted the incredible difference of freshly-juiced citrus. In addition to great taste,
fresh juice has many health benefits.
Antioxidants and Vitamin C
Antioxidants are extremely beneficial compounds, found in most fresh vegetables and fruits,
which help our bodies fight off the damage caused by free radicals.
When fresh produce is processed, canned or bottled, a great deal of antioxidant power is
lost. This is especially true of citrus fruits, which are naturally very high in the familiar
antioxidant Vitamin C.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant, but it's also much more. For many years, natural and holistic
health professionals have recognized Vitamin C's incredible immunity-boosting properties.
In addition, new studies suggest that Vitamin C may play an important role in cardiovascular
health, asthma prevention and cancer prevention.
Taste the Difference
Freshly juiced lemons and limes have a flavor that's much more complex than artificial or
bottled options. While still very tart, they're surprisingly sweet as well. Perhaps best of all,
they have no unpleasant artificial flavors.
Choosing the Right Fruits
When choosing citrus fruits, consider how you plan to use them. If you'll be using the zest
(the colored, outer part of the peel which holds flavorful and fragrant oils), choose organic
citrus. If you'll be discarding the peels, non-organic citrus is generally regarded as safe.

You'll also notice difference varieties of citrus fruits. They're all good, but two stand out from
the crowd – Key Limes and Meyer Lemons. Renowned for superior flavor, this pair will make
any citrus drink a winner!
Juicing Tips
To obtain the most juice from any lemon or lime, heat it very briefly under hot running water
(don't use the microwave!). Once it's warmed, gently roll it on a counter or table, pressing
down with your hand. These tricks release more juice into the pulp of the fruit, allowing you
to get more out of every squeeze!

unlike anything you can buy in a store!
Ingredients:
10 regular-size bags black tea
1 cup sugar (or natural sugar
substitute)
1 to 2 lemons
Fresh mint leaves (optional, see
