Here’s how to do it in a few easy steps.

What You Need• Wheatgrass Seeds

• Soil

• Mason Jar

• Mason Jar Lid With Holes

• Planting Trays

• Spray Bottle

• Water

• Sink

• 1/3 Measuring Cup

Step 1: Measure Your SeedsFirst measure out the amount of wheat berry seeds appropriate for the size of your planting tray.

Step 2: Soak Your SeedsNext, soak your seeds in a mason jar for 8-12 hours. Mix 2-3 parts water to 1 part seed.

Note: The seeds absorb a lot of water while they soak so more water is better than not enough.

Step 3: Rinsing and Draining Your Seeds

Time to rinse and drain your seeds. Using cool water, thoroughly rinse your seeds and set the jar upside down in the sink to drain. Repeat this step every 8 hours, for 2 days.

*When you see small roots emerge your seeds are ready for planting.

Step 4: Preparing Planting TrayTake your planting tray and put an even layer of soil in the bottom. Be sure that the soil is thoroughly moistened. Mix with your fingers to be sure the bottom layer of soil is moist, if not add more water.

Step 5: Planting Your SeedsTake your wheatgrass seeds and spread them evenly over the moistened soil making sure that all areas are covered. Now cover the planting tray with the inverted tray to keep out light and moisture.
