INSTALLATION

Customer Information: The information in this installation instruction is intended for use only by skilled technicians who have the proper tools, equipment, and training to correctly and safely add equipment to your vehicle. These procedures should not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

CAUTION

The procedure for disconnecting the negative cablefrom the battery varies according to the vehicle. Foryour safety refer to service information.

2. Remove the passenger’s under cover, and unplug
the vehicle connector, if equipped.

4. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the front passenger’s kick panel.

unplug the vehicle connectors.

8. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the driver’s kick panel.

9. Lower the steering wheel, and apply masking tape as shown.

10. Turn the steering wheel 90° clockwise. Using a
plastic trim tool, release one retaining tab.

11. Turn the steering wheel 180° counterclockwise. Using a plastic trim tool, release one retaining tab.

12. Release the upper column cover, and tape it to the dashboard.

13. Remove the self-tapping screw from the lower column cover.

14. Turn the steering wheel 180° clockwise, and remove
the self-tapping screw from the lower column cover.

17. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, thoroughly clean the door sill trim harness fuse case where the fuse label will attach.

18. Apply the fuse label to the door sill trim harness fuse case.


19. Plug the door sill trim harness 6-pin connector into
the vehicle 6-pin connector.

20. Attach the door sill trim harness fuse case to the vehicle 6-pin connector.


21. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, thoroughly clean the vehicle bracket where the EPT sealer will attach.

22. Attach the EPT sealer to the vehicle bracket as shown.

23. Route the door sill trim harness as shown.

24. Secure the door sill trim harness to the vehicle
bracket with one wire tie with clip B.

25. Secure the door sill trim harness to the dashboard with one wire tie with clip A.

35. Secure the door sill trim harness to the heater unit with one piece of aluminum tape.

36. Secure the door sill trim harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. Go to step 52.

55. Peel back the ends of two adhesive backings on the front door sill trim, and attach them to the front of the trim with masking tape.

56. Remove two adhesive backings.


57. Using an alcohol swab, thoroughly clean the vehicle
panel where the front door sill trim will attach.

58. Pull away the door opening seal, and line up the mark on the front door sill trim with the center of the cutout of the vehicle panel.


59. Attach the front door sill trim to the vehicle panel by removing two adhesive backings and pressing on the trim firmly with your hands.

60. Remove the masking tape.61. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, thoroughly

clean the vehicle panel where the protective tape will attach.

62. Attach one piece of protective tape A to the vehicle panel as shown.

63. Line up and route the front door sill trim harness over
protective tape A.

64. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, thoroughly clean protective tape A where protective tape B will attach.

65. Attach one piece of protective tape B over the front door sill trim harness.

66. Repeat steps 55 through 65 on the right side of the vehicle.

67. Using scissors, cut the urethane tape in half, and attach one piece around the front door sill trim 2-pin connector.

68. Plug the door sill trim harness 2-pin connector into the front door sill trim 2-pin connector.

70. Secure the front door sill trim harness to the vehicle
harness with four wire ties.

71. Attach one piece of the urethane tape around the front door sill trim 2-pin connector.

76. Peel back the end of one adhesive backing on the left rear door sill trim, and attach it to the front of the trim with masking tape.NOTE: Make sure the identification mark is for the left rear door sill trim.

78. Using an alcohol swab, thoroughly clean the vehicle panel where the left rear door sill trim will attach.

79. Line up the left rear door sill trim with the masking tape.

80. Attach the left rear door sill trim to the vehicle panel by removing the adhesive backing and pressing on the trim firmly with your hands.

81. Remove the masking tape.82. Repeat steps 75 through 81 on the right side of the

vehicle.


83. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly
and all connectors are plugged in.84. Install all removed parts.85. Connect the negative cable to the battery.86. Press and hold the audio unit power button for 2

seconds to restore the audio and navi (if equipped) system functions.

87. Set the clock.88. If necessary, restore the systems back to normal

operation as described in the service information.

Check the Operation of the Illuminated Door Sill Trim

89. Make sure the front door sill trim comes on when you open each door.
