KEVIN PEARCE is a former professional snowboarder who catapulted onto the professional snowboarding scene at age 18 in 2005, and soon after became a Gold medal hopeful in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
While training for the Olympic trials, Kevin suffered a severe traumatic brain injury that left him in critical condition. His recovery journey was recently chronicled in “The Crash Reel”, an HBO documentary by two-time Oscar nominated Director, Lucy Walker. Kevin is also a Sports Ambassador for the National Down Syndrome Society, crediting his older brother David, born with Down syndrome, as a huge influence in his life and career. Kevin, together with his brother, Adam, is also co-founder of the Love Your Brain Foundation (Loveyourbrain.com). Their mission is to prevent brain injuries, support brain injury recovery, and promote brain health. He is the 2014 recipient of The Dana and Christopher Reeve Inspiration Award as well as The Victory Award (2011) from The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC. Kevin proves to be an inspiration to all, as he continues to teach people what it means to “LoveYourBrain.”
LAUREN WEISBERGER is the New York Times bestselling author of The Devil Wears Prada, which was published in forty languages and made into a major motion picture starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. Lauren’s three other novels, Everyone Worth Knowing, Last Night
at Chateau Marmont, and Chasing Harry Winston, were all also New York Times bestsellers. Her latest book, Revenge Wears Prada, was released in June 2013 as the long-awaited sequel to the story that started it all. Lauren graduated with a BA in English from Cornell University and afterwards traveled the world. Carrying a small backpack, staying in questionable places, and often surviving only on Nutella and Coca-Cola Light, she further enriched her authentic cultural experiences.
After returning to the U.S., she moved to Manhattan and became the Assistant to the famed Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour. She immediately became proficient in the language of stilettos and Starbucks before moving to Departures magazine, where she wrote 100-word reviews by day and took writing classes at night. Currently, Lauren’s other books have been optioned and in development as films to follow up the success of The Devil Wears Prada.
