Living for God
For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son . . .

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness.

15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

Priests are holy to the Lord, set apart from ordinary pursuits and dedicated in a special way to the Lord
Things could be holy by setting them apart from ordinary use and dedicating them to God.
Dr. John Piper

1 Peter 1:17
Believers are not to be scared of God. We have no reason to be scared of Him. We have His promise that nothing can separate us from His love. . .
Fearing God means having such a reverence for Him that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives. The fear of God is respecting Him, obeying Him, submitting to His discipline, and worshipping Him in awe.
