    and self-improvement as a criteria of effectiveness and successfulness of educational process in university

    ENU after Gumilyov (Kazakhstan, Astana) Annotation: This article describes the concept of personal developing edu-

    cation, its target, substantial and procedural aspects providing development of the personality in the educational process. An example of Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov elaborates the conditions shaping the experience of personal self-development as a system of meanings and the indic-ative framework of further continuous students self-realization.

    At present, education is basic state priority of many countries of the world,

    which aim to create the flexible mobile system of higher education, meeting the new requirements in the conditions of global competition. Quite recently the president of the country N. A. Nazarbayev put forward a problem of Kazakh-stans entering the community of the worlds 50 most competitive countries. Therefore creation of the national education system conforming to modern in-ternational requirements has paramount value for strengthening of a position of Kazakhstan on European and worldwide level in higher education. One of the ways to implement the specified task is the implementation of the credit system of education. In 2002, for the purpose of the international recognition of nation-al educational programs, and to strengthen the program of academic mobility for students and teachers, as well as to improve the quality of education and ensure continuity of all levels and stages of higher and postgraduate education the cred-it technology of education was implemented. First of all, the educational system is directed to increase the level of self-education and creative learning. In the changed social situation a person tends to work out and adopt the values and life reference points that would allow him to find its place in the various systems of interaction. Therefore formation of the personality capable to self-development in the process of training of the specialist has to become a main goal of the higher school.

    One of the first in the Central Asia Republic of Kazakhstan became a member of the Bologna Declaration and a full member of the European educa-tional space. Today ENU of L. N. Gumilyov is higher education institution with the special status provided according to the Decree of the President of the Re-public of Kazakhstan, has rather high international authority, which realizes innovative technologies of educational process and is the successor of the best scientific traditions.

    One of the priority tasks of ENU is the implementation of a set of measures to foster youth with high civic and moral principles, a sense of patriot-ism and social responsibility. In order to achieve this objective was created the Center of youth policy, which covers extensive areas of college life, from re-search activities to leisure-time activities. For effective work of a whole organi-zation, committees of various fields of activity were created: Culture committee, sports Committee, science and education Committee, information Committee, Committee on external relations, Student councils.

    Percentage of students participating in youth organizations today makes 35% of the total contingent.

    Life of University students is interesting and varied. The University has all the possibilities to demonstrate the talent and creativity and abilities of young people. Created more than 30 student clubs and associations:Zhastar uni, Zheti zhargy, Diplomatic alliance, Lagyl, Leader, Promotion, DC Orator, DC Parasat, DC Victoria, Romantika alemi, Tagylym, chess club Grandmaster, InterZhas, Press Club ENUFire, IQ-club, PR club Professional, club of researchers of religion Pyramid, patriotic club Algyr urpak and other organizations. The University has all conditions for the devel-opment of a creative personality of students in the process of events which be-came traditional at University: Knowledge Day, Initiation of students , Vienna ball, Kyz Zhibek, Yer zhigit, Kultegins day (23rd of May), Victory Day, Day of the defender of Fatherland. Students of Eurasian Na-tional University take part in the city and Republic activities: the organization of OSCE Summit, the Asian Games 2011 Astana-Almaty, Astana Economic Fo-rum, XIV Congress of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan and other events. At the national level it is the interaction with youth organizations such as Zhas Otan , Kazakhstan students Alliance", "Youths Congress of Kazakhstan", "Zhasyl Yel" and others.

    In 2010, at the initiative of the first vice rector of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov ZH.N. Nurmanbetova, was created public association "Association of owners of the sign "Altyn belgi". Main objective of Association is consolidation of efforts of intellectual, creative potential of owners of the sign "Altyn belgi" and development of creative activity of all students and young scientists, attrac-tion them to the solution of actual problems of modern science.

    The special attention is paid to the healthy way of life of students. "Center of health" operates from 2011 and organized for timely effective treatment and introduction of prophylactic health events in life of every student.

    The University has created all necessary conditions for creative develop-ment of students and realization sports events. At the university works a sports club, which objects to instill in students the constant need for physical culture and sport and promote healthy lifestyle. Annually at University there is about 30 sports sections work. University students participate in city and national compe-titions in various sections of sports, and also in the sports and mass events held within University. In 2013, the national team of ENU ranked 3rd place in the seventh Summer Universiade among the universities of Kazakhstan. In the pro-cess of such activities among students and teachers develop relationships based on mutual understanding and co-operation.

    Students of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov have the right to take part in the program of the international exchange. Also students have an opportunity to be trained on an exchange program within grant and scholarship programs of the European Union (Erasmus Mundus), US State department (UGRAD), the Ger-man service of the academic exchanges (DAAD), etc. According to bachelor

    degree and magistracy programs within external academic mobility students study at universities of the Czech Republic, Spain, the Russian Federation, Jor-dan, Japan, Portugal, China, the Federal Republic of Germany, Saudi Arabia, South Korea. The Eurasian national university within the TEMPUS IV program realizes the SSDIK project "Student's Self-governance and Democratic In-volvement in Kazakhstan". The aim of the project SSDIK is to increase public activity of students in the higher education sector by enabling them to organize their own structure of self-government based on democratic principles of stu-dent associations, the aim of which is development of their own strategies and involvement in the decision-making process at their universities. Students of the Eurasian national university not only acquire profound knowledge, an extensive outlook, high level of culture, but also develop mobility, creativity and leadership skills. All this allows them to find application for their knowledge in future professional activity.

    Independence, adequate self-esteem, the desire for self-realization in edu-cational process, ascent to the "I am perfect", "I-Pro" should form the civil qualities of the student, which became one of the main outcomes of the educa-tional process. Present students have new roles and the purposes connected, on the one hand, with conscious, active and responsible development of person-al and professional competences, and on the other hand, with active search of the "I" in a profession and in life. Thus, initial orientation to result and an active position in relation to the training are indicators of emergence in future gradu-ates of a personal responsibility for quality of their professional training.

    .. Using the idioms in the study of English Language

    - ( . ) It's not a secret that every language has its own set phrases - collocations or

    idioms. They are the highlight of the study of any language. You can learn a great many interesting facts about the history of the British and their culture from the idioms. Some of them has the similar translation to the Russian coun-terparts, we can understand them easily and they do not require a great knowledge of the language. Others idioms are highly specific for their under-standing , and we need constantly enrich our speech and knowledge of idioms.

    What is an idiom? In Modern Dictionary of the Russian Language, edited by S. Kuznetsova

    idioms defined as: "idiom (Gr. Idioma is a kind of expression) - a figure of speech, is not passed literally into another language." [1] The English language is very rich in idioms, which are found in the literature, newspapers, everyday speech. There are more than 15,000 of them.

    Why is it important to study the idioms? Firstly, idioms reflect the culture and life of the people, its rich historical

    experience, the mentality of native speakers. Secondly, idioms make our speech more expressive, emotional, they give

    flavor of our speech, make a living language. Third, we enrich our idioms, give it a unique identity. Finally, they bring our speech-to-speech of a native speaker. In addition idioms contribute to the development of functional literacy and

    develop language guess. There are many idioms in English that are drawn from animal life. For ex-

    ample, when we do two things at one and the same time we kill two birds with one stone, or, if we are greedy and foolish, we kill the goose that lays the golden eggs A bad tempered person is like a bear with a sore head ,an awkward ,heavy-footed person is like a bull in a china shop. But let us leave the foolish person, or the bad person, the black sheep, the man who has gone to the dogs. [3]

    There are some people who always take safety measures when it is too late and look the stable door after the horse is stolen. That, he considers, is as foolish as putting the horse. When bold decisive measures are necessary he takes them and takes the bull by the horns, and when an ill-tempered, sharp-tongued friend says something unpleasant, he doesnt worry too much, he knows his bark is worse than his bite. If he knows is worse a secret, he keeps it he is not one to "let the cat out of the bag". He is full of sound common sense "horse sense" he calls it, and he doesn't believe in making changes while a job is in progress; that would be changing horses in midstream- a risky business.

    He knows, too, that there are some things you can't force people to do. As he would say, "you can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make it drink". And he would, of course, be too generous- hearted to "look a gift horse in the mouth". Hes a cheerful, hard-working fellow, works like a horse". He hopes he will always be like that and die in harness. He isn't proud riding the high horse, and is always willing to help others in difficulty, putting his shoulder to the wheel or helping lame dogs over stiles.[3]

    Thus, it is obvious that the study of idioms leads to more intensive assimi-lation of lexical material and develop the skills of reading, writing and speaking.
