What is Serena?
• SERENA is the Latin-American network of study and monitoring of natural resources.
History:
• SERENA was created as part of the RedlaTIF network, and it is totally founded by the CYTED program, with more than 13 Latin-American participant countries.
Principal goals:
• Design and development of a continental processing system, using remote sensing and ancillary information, for:
• Fire detection• Burned area quantification• Fire risk estimation• Local validation
