Woodna Maderas Preciosas is a trademark engaged in the production and marketing of top quality Spanish Hardwood products.

Our main raw material is made up by the Wood of two different trees, which have always represented the highest standards of technical delicacy and aesthetical beauty in respect of Iberian Wood. Walnut Wood: brown, deep and with an elegant graining, a durable Wood which, at the same time, is easy to handle thanks to its fine grain, and Cherry Wood: beautifully pale, with a rosy heartwood, a shiny graining and a straight, malleable fibre.

Our Values

Twenty years ago, we planted an idea. At the beginning, barely a sprout came up from the dry land. It was just the green promise of what we wanted it to be a new way of growing, loving and working the Wood and, therefore, Nature.

We watered and cared for the sprout with the commitment, attention and care that such idea, planted in the middle of a barren land, in a forgotten area, needed to grow, enjoying ourselves as farmers of thoughts, as land thinkers.

Over time and with effort, that tiny seed became this Tree we named Woodna. This Tree has engraved, in its deep roots, its leafy branches, its sweet sap and especially in the mature fruits we offer in this catalogue, the footprint of the beauty, sustainability and craftsmanship spirit with which, a long way back, it was watered and taken care of when it was just a seed, a promise of Hardwood.

We employ in our fields sustainable exploitation and preservation techniques, such as qualitative specimen selection -in order to obtain a greater growing speed- or agroforestry works involving an encouragement for the rural environment development, since their execution entails intensely employing labour and taking advantage of the synergies provided by the other activities of the area: from eliminating herbicides by introducing ovine cattle, replacing fertilizers by sewage sludge to sawmilling or mushroom growing.

Our love towards Wood was born, as every true love, out of a deep respect for the Wood itself and, accordingly, for environment, more specifically, for the rich forest heritage of the Iberian Peninsula.

Once our ethical goal was achieved -the production of top quality, sustainable, Spanish Wood-, our aesthetical goal was marked by the wish of introducing that elegant, timeless beauty of a piece of Wood to the functional uses of contemporary life. Our product designs managed to combine concepts which may appear antagonistic, as beauty and usefulness, or exclusiveness and ecology.

When a Woodna product reaches the consumer hands, a ring closes, a sustainability circle which started with an idea, a tree which grew becoming a unique unrepeatable product committed to the natural beauty, the protection of the environment and the development of our forest and rural resources.

REGIA SERIESIn order to offer you our Regia Series, we had to come a far way, forgotten for some time, whose path, however, is rooted in the depths of a great Iberian tradition: the nogaleros (walnut wood craftsmen).

We have recovered the techniques for cultivation and land surveying, sawmilling and drying, which over the course of centuries were used by those craftsmen to work and bring to life this Wood, traditionally considered as the “queen” of Hardwood.

The path was long, tough, but rewarding; it couldn’t be otherwise if we wanted to comply with a passion and a dedication worthy of

a tradition we wanted to be part of if we wanted to sit before a Walnut Table in which time would stop in a nobleness and beauty moment. Therefore, the models of our Royal Series, due to their craftsmanship production techniques, can only be made on demand, something that would also allow us to adapt ourselves to the specific preferences and needs of each client.

Besides the Regia Series exclusive models we propose below, we also offer the option of a manual production on demand in any other size and measurements. In this case, Woodna would provide the best board and offer a customised estimate for the acquisition of

a piece of furniture, which, in addition to beauty and exclusivity of our Hardwood itself, it would adapt to the preferences and needs of each client in a personalised way.

REGIA SERIES - FINISHINGS

Extra mate acrylic solvent-based polyurethane varnish finishing

It’s a very transparent varnish with no brightness which allows the Wood natural beauty to go through. It shows a great hardness and feels nice to the touch. Furthermore, it has a high resistance to yellowing, scratching, wear due to domestic chemicals*** and to high temperatures and contact with hot objects.

Extra hard solvent varnish* finishing

The colourless finishing of this varnish, as in our previous finishing, allows the Wood natural beauty to go through. It will also offer us a great resistance to friction and yellowing; however, its resistance to domestic chemicals and heat is lower.

Wax plus natural oils finishing

The natural oils penetrate in the depth of the wood, protecting and moisturising it from the inside, bringing up to the outside, through the humidification left in the graining, all the splendour and beauty of the Wood. Natural oils are highly water-repellent and dust-repellent, so the maintenance works are reduced to a polishing every two years with which, in addition to a little sanding and further wax application, we will be able to repair scratches on the Wood.
