A citizen is a person with rights, duties and responsibilities under a government.

Anyone born in the United States or a territory of the United states.

F. Major Rights of Citizens

The right to vote and hold elected office. The right to say what you think in

Active participants can run for office, attend political meetings, and vote.

Some people choose to be less active in their citizen role.

These people contribute to the common good through volunteering, donating money to charities, or working in jobs that help people.

People must decide how much time and energy they put into being a citizen.

Each person will have a different way of approaching this.

A person’s opinion of their citizenship role may change with age, interests, and career choice.
