Multi-family Workplace
Day-ahead hourly rate that aligns with grid conditions
to encourage off-peak charging
Lower hourly prices reflect favorable grid conditions and available low cost energy.
Targeted charging locations (long duration, frequently used parking) offer the best opportunity to optimize grid utilization.
Location of many of the existing charging facilities are not the best VGI Program opportunities.

Coordination with Local and Regional Current & Future Efforts
• Coordination with CEC Grant Funded Efforts – Work Well With & Complement VGI Program o Regional Planning (SANDAG) – REVI REFUEL Plug-in SD SANDAG’s Sustainable Communities Strategyo City and County of San Diego – deployment of charging facilities on City/County property
Many sites are not opportunities for the VGI Program – SDG&E involvement is still vital
• Work with All Stakeholders to Provide Resources & Technical Assistance in Support and Implementation of Electric Transportation Components of Climate Action Plans o There is the potential for VGI Program applicability (e.g., workplace and light duty fleet)
• If Settlement is Approved at least 10% of Facilities to be Installed in Disadvantaged Communities – as Identified by Cal EPA’s Enviroscreen tool per SB 535o Work with CBOs to educate and help to recruit hosts sites o Complement and coordinate with federal, state and local programs (CARB, per SB 1275)

installation standards helps to expedite the VGI Facility installation process.

incentives, assessing EV charging needs and general information regarding EV makes and models.
• EV Dealerships o Keeping them up to date regarding incentives, special electric
rates, and developments in the VGI Program.

If VGI Settlement is Approved – at least 10% of VGI Facilities to be Installed in Disadvantaged Communities (as identified by Cal EPA’s Enviroscreen Tool, per SB 535)
• Work with CBOs help to educate and recruit hosts sites for participation
• Complement and coordinate with federal, state and locally funded programs (CARB, per SB 1275), when available
o Carsharing pilots and programs (e.g., SANDAG-CARB grant agreement)o Scrap & Replace Program for low-income residents in disadvantaged
communitieso Clean Vehicle Rebate Project – help educate customers about increased
rebates for low-to-moderate income driverso Help educate customers about financing assistance programs
• Work with “Plug-in SD” for education and outreach to disadvantaged communities, workplace and multi-family locations
