founded by 4 graduates of UCLA who originally wanted to

create an underwater restaurant. When that idea failed, they

created a 22 acre marine zoological park famous forhosting Shamu (see below).

"star" of the SeaWorld orca (killer whale) shows. The

original Shamu in died in 1971, but the name Shamu was

registered by SeaWorld (as well as the names "Namu" and

"Ramu" ).
