Ultra High Efficiency Steam Injection System
Existing Technology Bent steam/air tubes that cause high
pressure drop restricting the primary air that can mix with the flare gas.
XP Technology Straight tubes that optimize the
primary air entrainment and mixing with the flare gas.

Improved Mixing
The XP utilizes a patent-pending “Moderated Shear Mixing” technique providing superior smokeless performance.
This is achieved by optimizing turbulence in the steam/air/flare gas mixing zone.

Increased Secondary Air Efficiency
The XP uses multiple small-diameter tubes. These tubes allow open paths for secondary air to be entrained and mixed into the flame prior to combustion.
Existing high capacity steam flares use a large diameter barrel that does not allow internal secondary air entrainment.

XP Steam System Benefits
Saves more than 30% of the steam used by current technologies at the same smokeless capacity.
This combined reduction in steam usage provides significant annual operational cost savings.
Uses much less standby steam (cooling steam) than existing technologies.

Steam Capping Reduces Tip Life
Upper steam
Waste gas
Lowersteam
Center steam
Existing technologies are susceptible to severe damage due to steam capping, the phenomenon that results in flame backflow. This occurs when the upper steam is operated at too high a rate.

XP Improved Tip Life
The XP steam flare eliminates upper steam nozzles and the associated damage due to steam capping.
The XP single steam line simplifies operation and thereby reduces the possibility of tip damage due to improper steam control.
