Capturing rainwater or melted snow

Create a small ditch and letting rain fall into the ditch covered by the blanket.

Create a tent with a stick

Stick a long branch into the ground, and tie one side of the blanket to the top. Using rocks hold the other two corners of the blanket out to create a tent.

Start a fire using the sunlight

Using sunlight reflect the light off the reflective surface of the blanket and start a fire with the dead plant life.
