Hi, I’m Rebecca Mahony.

I am a communications professional based in Tallahassee, Fla. I develop stra-tegic and creative marketing approaches and have a strong track record of con-tributing unique perspective and expertise in public relations, writing and graph-ic design. Fluent in interactive and Internet tools, I infuse new media technologies into digital strategies to enhance brand awareness and online communications.

I graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University’s College of Commu-nication and Information with a bachelor’s degree in communication; I majored in pub-lic relations and minored in business. As a student, I won a Golden Image Award of Distinction for computer generated communication from the Florida Public Rela-tions Association for RM New Media. The project included my personal brand, web-site and blog, The Creative Impressive, Progressive New Media Conversation.

My previous experience includes working with top integrated communications firms in Tallahassee, including Moore Communications Group, RB Oppenheim Associ-ates and Taproot Creative. For each I provided public relations, marketing, advertis-ing and digital media solutions for clients. I have also previously worked for Gunster, a full-service commercial law firm serving Florida’s leading businesses for more than 85 years, as a Special Project Website Coordinator. My responsibilities included manag-ing website content and an email marketing campaign for Gunster’s Boardroom Brief.

I have significant experience working with organizations in the health-care industry, and I understand the unique challenges healthcare organiza-tions face while trying to keep patients informed while reaching new poten-tial patients.
