Modern-day Speakeasy style bar. Stock a wide selection of rare and local spirits. Hand crafted cocktails. Limited food menu.
Owners Jessica and Marcus started BG&CO July 25, 2009.
Small, personal staff includes 4 bartenders and 4 cocktail waitresses. Family-like atmosphere.
26-31 year-old young adults who enjoy the intimate, speakeasy scene of the past. 31-50 year-old patrons looking for specialty, hand-crafted cocktails and exotic spirits

Current Identity & Website
The current logo for Bathtub Gin & Co is very beautiful, actually. I love the use of shape for the text, because it is very 1920s-esque. There is a bathtub shape in the middle of the logo, and the floral/ornate decor is reminiscent of a bathtub brand label. The colors are an alright scheme to suit the business, but I feel like there could be better. The business card uses a script type as the secondary type for their information.
Why do I want to change it? I feel like this logo leans on the edge of “girly” and I feel like their brand would be better suited with one that is less swirly and “pretty”that utilizes strong 1920s style type and shapes. I also am concerned about scalability with this logo, as it needs to be very large to be readable. I would like to change the color scheme as well to convey more of a rich, secretive feel. I would like to use the bathtub icon as a separate piece that can become a pull-away.
The current website is a homepage with the logo, address and directions, and links to their yelp and facebook. The do not have much information available, which speaks to a speakeasy, but doesn’t help promote their business.
I would like to add a few pages to their website including a menu, hours (including happy hour), about them, contact, etc. I feel like this is really important in order to bring in customers.

Final Logo
For the final logo I created a recognizable but interesting bathtub shape that can be used separately from the logo as an icon. I wanted to use a retro, 1920’s style font for the type. I used Mouse Deco for “Bathtub” and paired it with Optima for “Gin & CO.”

Cannot even compete. Website is only a splash page.
Menu only lists highlights. Once you click blog there is no back to website. Sign up is hidden under discoverables
The only reason this did not receive a 5 is because the website offers no sign-up or follow and needs more in the about section.
No about section, just rules. Site is hard to navigate because there are too many menu links and it makes the page cluttered.
Looks and feels like a blog template: BORING. Menus are not up to date. Difficult to find sign-up area.

User Scenario
The Working Hipster
John is 30 years old and he works in the same office he has been in for the past 6 years. Having no family of his own, he has a fairly disposable income and enjoys buying expensive jeans and whiskey.
He is looking for a place that is small with no frills and no gimmicks. He desires a large variety of different spirits than can not be found and a normal dive bar. Depending on the location, he might bring a date here or some male friends from work.
John rarely stumbles upon places that he likes. He prefers to research and find places he thinks are tailored to his style. The last thing he wants to do is walk into a college bar and feel out of place.

User Scenario
The Rockabilly Girly Girl
Jeannie is 26 and finishing up her college degree. She likes to go out with her friends, but is not into the “newly-21-and-wasted” scene. She prefers to sit in an intimate setting and have a few martinis.
She loves to dress up. She has done many pin-up style photo shoots and is getting into roller derby. She would tell you that her style is very retro.
Since she is almost out of college she does not have a huge income, but she doesn’t support a child or family, so she does have some extra income. She would rather go somewhere that is slightly expensive, yet reminiscent of times past than a cheap dive bar.

User Scenario
The Dapper Dan
At the young age of 56, Henry is living life to it’s fullest. He has been married to his high school sweetie, Dolores for some 40 years. He is still working by choice.
Henry likes to take his potential business partners out for a cocktail after their meeting. His smile is infectious and people love to be around him. He signs multiple deals based on his great outlook of life.
He also likes to take Dolores out on date night. He takes her dancing and would love to find a place that speaks to the olden-days where they can snuggle up on a couch in a dark corner. Being a scotch man, he rarely goes anywhere that doesn’t carry Macallan 1824 Collection.
