Form Finding with Grasshopper attractors

The addition of attractors onto a surface to produce a variation of surface conditions and forms.

The new surface conditions can be transformed further into more meaning full spacial qualities.

Parametric Aperture

These aperture sizes are determined by their distance to the square cube.

Application: Facade, Light Control

Grasshopper - G-Code Generator:

Tool path generator with tool size, cut density and step size adjustable.

G-Code is streamed to text fi le and be loaded to CNC machine for cutting.

Auto too path update with geometry change.

Sunshade modelling with Grasshopper

The following screen shots show the sunshade dimensions (x,y, z) is driven by the grasshopper script, and can be altered with parameter inputs via the number slider.

All associated side panelling and mounting members are scripted to maintain their connection to the main structure, this association is maintained when over all dimensions are altered.

Sunshade modelling with Grasshopper

Bolt hole spacing and diameter on the side panel are driven by the Grasshopper script.

Bolt holes are always evenly spaced along the side panel, even with change to the z dimension.

Hole sizes can to changed to suit metric bolt size, as required by structural engineer

Sunshade modelling with Grasshopper

Mounting member plate thickness is also driven by the script.

The thickness can be changed as required by structural engineer.
