The vision of Indonesia was born during the Second Youth Congress in Jakarta, 1928.
It was this young generation of Indonesians that led the charge – with mission, passion, and action – for an independent Indonesia:• Sugondo Djojopuspito, the chairman of the
Youth Congress, was 25 years old. • Muhammad Yamin, the secretary, was 24 years
old. • Wage Rudfolf Supratman, author of the national
anthem, was 25 years old.
It has been seventy years since the founding of Indonesia. It is time for the next generation to lead again!
It is time again for Indonesia's Youth to Lead
The Youth have the Opportunity to Power Indonesia’s Economic GrowthIndonesia's Future rest on 65 million young Indonesians
Yet, this Youth Dividend Suffers from Talent shortfallNGOS to VCs like Golden Gate Ventures, Ideosource, and Fenoxall reinforce that Indonesia’s startup potential is hampered by a critical lack of talent.
We need to address the talent shortfall,if Indonesia is to achieve long-term economic growth
We’re a Creative Economy Hub
Ventura Labs was founded by Indoplan Institute as an independent social enterprise for Indonesia’s Youth.
We are a platform to enable young Indonesians to participate in the Creative Economy and compete globally:• Provide practitioner led-training in key startup skills• Hub for industry leaders, NGOs, Government and Indonesia’s Youth• Be a self-sustaining social enterprise to support all programmes
First project: DSI Bootcamp 2016
Does the Creative Economy Need Universities?
> Google doesn’t require degrees:
14% of Google’s Product Teams don’t have degrees
> Ernest & Young UK no longer requires baseline grades
> Deloitte UK no longer weighs university pedigree
Global Companies no longer see University Success as indicative of Career Success
We’re creating Industry-Focused Talent
> Bring World Renowned Classes to Indonesia
Use course material of top universities like John Hopkins, Yale, MIT
> Practitioner Led Training
Bring in instructors and mentors from the relevant industries
> Demonstrate Skills with Apprenticeships
Pair students to work with corporates on real world problems –rather then relying on final exams.
Big Data is Infrastructure
