Call & Take an AppointmentFirst, make an introductory call to the prospective merchants

based on your secondary research:

Hi, I’m calling from mRUPEE Wallet - A 100% subsidiary of Tata Teleservices. May I speak to the Owner/ Manager?

mRUPEE Mobile Wallet is similar to the process you follow for accepting Sodexo Coupons. However, it offers much more benefits than Sodexo or other such products in the market.

If you would be interested in this product, I would like to come & meet you in person to discuss this product in detail and how you can benefit from it.

Are you available for the same sometime today/ tomorrow?

Page 13: TATA mRUPEE Mobile Wallet - Project Workflow & Training Guidelines

Pitch the Product Visit the merchants on the scheduled date & time. The expected output of this meeting is to convince the merchant to get

onboard & accept mRupee Wallet as a mode of transaction for customer payments for his/ her business.

Begin the conversation by asking a few questions:― Are you familiar with the concept of Meal Vouchers/ Coupons?― Do you accept any such Vouchers here? From Sodexo, Ethernet, etc.?― What are the common issues you face while accepting vouchers as

payments from customers, or while encashing them? Next, Use the information in the following slides to give the

bigger picture to the merchant & to handle any queries.

What are Meal Vouchers? Meal vouchers are paper or card based vouchers given as a benefit to employee by the employer to have meal at eatery.

The meal vouchers enable purchase of food products and non-alcoholic beverages to the employee.

The issuers of meal vouchers have predefined tie ups with merchants (places where these vouchers can be used).

Meal vouchers used to bring transparency for the employer, employee, merchant and concerned regulating authority.

Meal voucher are part of an employee’s cost to company.

According to Income Tax Rule 3(7)(iii) of 1962 vide Meal vouchers provided by the employer to employee enjoy income tax benefit.

Page 15: TATA mRUPEE Mobile Wallet - Project Workflow & Training Guidelines

Existing Trends For Meal Vouchers

In 2011 India had around 10 lakh meal voucher users with a market size of Rs.2000 Crore.

Meal vouchers benefit is limited to only 0.03% of the total tax payers in India.

Meal voucher market is monopolized by select few providers.

Close to 10,000 merchants across India accept paper based meal vouchers

Paper meal vouchers support only offline transaction.

Physical nature of paper based meal vouchers limits the penetration of meal vouchers despite giving tax benefits.
