ALEX VOICEOVERYou know, i've not always been so fortunate as I am today. My name is Alex Lotus and this is my Rebirth.

INT. OLD WORK BUILDING

ALEX is working at his desk, looking exhausted. He hasn't slept in a while and he has stacks of documents to get through even though everyone else gets half as many as him. JOHN passes by and insults ALEX every so often.

ALEX VOICEOVERI used to work at a harsh, boring 9 to 5 job to earn little money to keep up my terrible lifestyle just over a year ago. On top of that... I had an asshole of a boss.

JOHNWhy do you even work? You're useless.

ALEX VOICEOVERAnd can you believe that I just took that? I was getting bullied at work and I just took it to get money and go home. And god, was home not much fun either...

INT. OLD HOME

BERTHA is on the couch of their untidy apartment watching TV. She hasn't cleaned anything or done anything even though she doesn't have a job.

BERTHAALEX! Why didn't you get me dinner on the way back?

ALEX Sorry, I just had a bad da-

BERTHAI DON'T CARE! I hate you! You're so stupid!

ALEX VOICEOVERAnd just like that... I blew up.

BERTHA's mouth is open and ALEX stands while facing her. He is furious.

ALEXEvery single god-damn day, I work my ass off at a shitty job where the boss bullies me, gives me double the work of everyone else while insulting me. I don't get sleep, I come home after working for hours to a dirty, unclean house with your fat ass on the couch demanding food. I am done! I am leaving you, I am leaving my shitty job and I am leaving TONIGHT!

ALEX walks out of the house with his wallet, and his jacket. Nothing else to him is worth taking.

EXT. STREETS

ALEX VOICEOVERI was alone. I had nowhere to go - little money and I was cold and hungry.

ALEX is seen on the streets looking cold, and trying to find somewhere to sleep. He falls to the floor in an alleyway.

ALEX VOICEOVERI thought about going back many times during those nights but I couldn't go back. I didn't want to anymore.

It is day-time and ALEX is wandering the streets. VIKTOR notices him at the side and gives him a cup of tea to warm him up.

ALEX VOICEOVERThen I met VIKTOR. He got me back on my feet just from pure coincidence. He took me in and gave me a shot as a Stock-broker.

INT. STOCKBROKER WORK

ALEX VOICEOVERIt was my first call I made. The man on the phone has a posh accent. I coaxed him into my first sale; 10000 dollars with a 50% split.

ALEX VOICEOVERAnd my life just kept on getting better. I was making 10 times the money I would make in a week at my old job in a single day.

INT. NEW APARTMENT

ALEX VOICEOVERI began to rent out an apartment and I was making a comeback from nothing. Every single day I brought a piece of furniture for my place. At the weekends, I would paint until my fingers began to blister.

ALEX finishes his apartment. It looks brilliant and finished. Closeup of ALEX smiling contently.

ALEX VOICEOVERBut at the end of it all, I was the most happy I had ever been so far. So here I am... In a new apartment, fully painted. It took me a long time but only good things can come out of it.

EXT. PARK

ALEX VOICEOVERBesides... There's always new people to meet.

ALEX notices a pretty girl his age looking at him, turning away shyly and smiling. ALEX waves to the 'camera' and walks away.
