How Non-Profit and Profit Organizations use Social Media
Definitions
First, what are the differences between the two organizations?
A Non-Profit purpose is to do a service , they run on only donations.
A Profits purpose is to bring in the most money, they run on their income .
So how do they use Social Media?
For Profit Organization
Big businesses recently started using Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
This year’s report shows large companies have increased their use of blogs by 5 percent -- with 28 percent actively blogging in 2012 compared to 23 percent last year. (media marketing)
Big businesses increase by 8 percent using Facebook
For Non-Profit Organization
Marketing.about.com states that non-profit “has been setting the pace for the use of social media marketing” Saves money Establishes a relationship that normally would not
have taken place due to the lack of money. Videos as leverage Surveys and polls
Differences
Both organizations are able to use Social Media in many ways. For non-profit, social media helps keep their business going. Social media is more of a life line. In comparison, larger businesses use Social Media but, they are always able to fall back on larger ads because they have money.
