Connect with…
Only people I know People I want to know Everyone!!!
Pros + You can refer people or make introductions with confidence
+ The odds are in your favor they will say yes
+ Builds a solid network that mirrors your in person network exactly
+ LinkedIn gives you enough information about a connection you can reach out via InMail and see if they are interested in connecting
+ You can look at profiles and figure out if they are a good fit
+ Start with a digital handshake
+ You would have a huge network
+ Your posts and updates would have more visibility potentially
Cons - LinkedIn is about growing your network – so if you only network with people you have met in person you might be missing opportunities
- You do need to make sure you connect and get to know them, which takes time
- If someone asks you to refer them and you can’t, that might look odd
- If someone asks you to refer them and you can’t, that might look odd
- It may open you up to spam and salespeople that are not what you are looking for
