Every Loewen wood component is treated with a water repellant/wood preservative mixture, before assembly, to enhance the wood’s natural resistance to moisture

absorption and decay.

In many European jurisdictions, Douglas Fir windows are not required to be preservative treated, while Hemlocks and Pines are. This reflects Fir’s superior natural resistance to decay.

The Survey

In 2006, MRA (Market Resource Associates) conducted a survey of distributors, remodeling contractors, home builders and retail dealers. Over one thousand industry professionals and consumers ranked the performance of 21 wood or clad wood window manufacturer brands in categories ranging from consistent product quality to good customer value.

The Results

Loewen was ranked highest in the following performance attributes:

The Award
