PEER is a competitive grants program that builds partnerships between NSF-funded scientists in the U.S. and their international collaborators around the world



U.S. scientist has current NSF award

NSF award supports the research and training of

U.S. scientists and students

USAID PEER award supports developing country scientists,

students, and a range of research activities

Developing country scientistapplies to PEER award

PEER is open to 79 countries

Non-eligible country scientists can partner with scientists in eligible countries



• Food security - agricultural development, fisheries, and plant genomics

• Global health - ecology of infectious disease, biomedical engineering, and

natural/human system interactions

• Climate change - water sustainability, hydrology, ocean acidification,

climate process and modeling, and environmental engineering

• Other development topics - disaster mitigation, biodiversity, water, and

renewable energy, etc.
