There’s a close up of the horses face as it is still, the horse turns and starts to move in time with the music as it start s. He pauses to flick his movie star style hair as the song says “I don’t know what to say”. The horse changes its tempo and ‘claps’ his hooves on the floor in time with the “or even shout” lyric. 26 seconds into the advert is where Socks starts moonwalking in time to Fleetwood Mac until he reaches the edge of a cliff where the horse changes direction. At 40 seconds the horse grins at the camera as he moonwalks past and shortly after a farmer on a tractor drives past and the horse temporarily stops dancing and resumes its routine after. Socks passes the seals on the rocks by the sea and “Silly stuff. It matters.” appears in text on the screen. Music: Fleetwood Mac- Everywhere (1988) Sound effects: The waves in the beginning The horse’s hooves as it moonwalk across the grass. Silly stuff. It matters. In a bold, white font at the end of the advert. Followed by the 3 mobile logo and website link with ‘Keep on internetting’ next to it. There is also #DancePonyDance in the final seconds of the advert. Aimed at anyone wanting to purchase the services that 3 mobile offer, such as mobile service coverage. The more specific audience is a younger, more fun generation who use social media; this is show through the hashtag at the end of the advert. The advert is also suitable for the parents of the potential customers through the song choice (Fleetwood Mac) so they will remember the company through the iconic song and the now famous dancing pony. The message of the advert is to not take things to seriously and to have fun, this helps 3 mobile to get a fun brand image and hopefully people would buy their products because of this.
