Radio advert analysis. In the nandos advert guy talks in a humorous style. This appeals to all audiences as everyone like laughter and humour. This is just one of many types of styles that adverts can be made in. some other styles are Serious, factual, fiction and Aggressive. In the advert there is a single voice used, this voice was a male who used a foreign accent, this suited the company as everybody associates nandos as spicy food and this relates to the foreign accent the male voice portrays. The tone of the voice is jokey and fun. This creates a more enjoyable advert. Also the fact that the advert is repetitive makes the advert stick the audiences heads and this makes the advert more popular. In the advert the guy constantly repeats the words ‘It’s Okay’ this sticks in your head and makes you want to go to nandos. However throughout the advert the guy only says the word ‘nandos’ three times, I think the company name could have been said more as then you know where to go. Also in the advert there were no contact details given, I recon a number or email address could have been given. However there are lots of stores this would mean giving out number after number so I see why they didn’t do it. In the background of the advert there is mariachi music playing. The reason for this is because it goes with the theme Mexican/ Portuguese. I think that the advert is good and well made. The language is funny and so is the music, it makes you see nandos in a funny light and makes you want to go there for a fun experience. Legal and ethical issues In the advert they used a Mexican accent, which was very strong and out there. This could come across as racist as the accent may effect a small racial minority. They would have had to be very careful on doing this advert. However with the restaurant being Portuguese/ Mexican food, they may have been aloud to use the accent.
