Abstract

In studying and observing the fire, we find out that sometimes wind can put out the fire but sometimes wind can make fire more blazing.

We interested in the wind that can put out fire so we do an experiment about the velocity of wind that can put out the fire. In the experiment, we put the light-candle or fired fuels in the wind tunnel. After that, turn on the wind tunnel and modify the velocity of wind to observe that the fire put out or not.

In our studying, we can apply to many conflagrations such as firing forests. We can calculate that the fire is putting out or more burning by check the velocity of wind.

Method to use Aero Dynamic1. Assemble all the tool like figure. 2. Turn on the switch to release the

wind.3. You can reach the velocity of wind

at the Hydroric meter. The red Liquid will stop at the scale of wind-velocity.

place. Then, you can calculate the Area of flame in 2D with PhotoshopCS and VMHimage.

You can find the Volume of fire by use this formula.

Experiment

1. Light the candle and place it in front of the Aero Dynamics. Turn on the switch to release the wind. Notice and note It.

2. Increase the wind velocity 1 km/hr per 1 time. Then, photo and note it.

3. Do like no.2 until the fire turn off. 4. Change the candle to the alcohol lamp and do

like No.1-3 5. Conclude the experiment.
