Economical • Economic power, GDP, Market Size, Market potential and similarity

Political• Laws ,regulation, rules (e.g.

the country should evaluate how the trade bloc rules affect on its sovereignty)

Cultural • Differences, regionality, consumer behavior

Factors for India

Economical•Most important sector is service (IT,

biotech) •Attempt of cooperation with growing

markets in APEC, ASEAN

Political •Largest democracy in the world•Member of G20 and BRICS

Cultural• India has a

deep historical linkage to Southeast-Asia

Summary – Most important factors for India

• Since India is a well-developed country and the most important economic aspects are services, especially IT and telecommunication.

• India should consider the market potential and purchasing power of the potential economic bloc partners.

• But also the cultural and political aspects have to be taken into account for a harmonic cooperation. Country-specific and laws and regulations need to be considered.
