OvertimeOvertime pay for work rendered beyond eight

How to compute overtime?On ordinary days

Number of hours in excess of 8 hrs. (125% x hourly rate)

• On a rest day, special day or regular holiday

- Number of hours in excess of 8 hrs. (130% x hourly rate)

Compensation for rest day, Sunday, or Holiday work

If it is an employee’s rest day If unworked – 100% If worked – 1st 8 hrs + 30% of 200%

If it is a holiday If unworked – no pay unless there is a favourable company policy,

practice of collective bargaining agreement (CBA) granting payment of wages on special days even if unworked.

If worked – 1st 8 hrs + 30% of the 100% of the daily rate. Falling on the employee’s rest day and if worked – 1st 8 hrs + 50% of

the 100% of the daily rate.
