Module 1, Activity 4: Putting a Product Together

• With your team, plan a production process for making envelopes

• Create a production kit that contains instructions for making your envelopes

• Exchange your kit with another team and create envelopes, using their instructions

• Check with your partner team and see what they produced, using your kit

Page 9: PowerPoint

Making a Production Kit Making a Production Kit 1. Figure out how your envelope is made. (Hint: Use

“reverse engineering” by unfolding the envelope.)

2. Make a template of the envelope.3. Make a blueprint:

– List all the materials needed to make the envelope.

– Write clear step-by-step instructions for assembling the envelopes. Include pictures, if appropriate.

4. Complete the process table for producing your envelope.

5. Test and refine your process. (The envelopes produced need to be high-quality. How will you check the quality of your completed envelopes?)
