Mount Elgon National Park Lying 256 kms northeast of Kampala, bordering with Kenya in eastern Uganda, Mt. Elgon covers an area of 1155 sq.kms. It offers a variety of scenery, vegetation and cultures. Mt. Elgon is an extinct volcano with gradual slopes leading to the crater rim, lying at 4,321 metres above sea level. Mountaineering skills are not required. The whole region is excellent for hikers and climbers, with caves, rock paintings, gorges and waterfalls providing beautiful scenery. Sipi Falls, at the foothills of the mountain is a favorite destination. The park has a variety of small game including, duiker, hyena, leopard, chimpanzee, buffalo and elephant and numerous species of birdlife. The legendary’ Mountains of the Moon; as they are called, offers a World Heritage Site and the incomparably, beautiful, mist-shrouded peaks provide a unique backdrop to one of our magnificent national parks. blue monkey, bush pig, duiker, leopard, jackal and elephants in the southeast of the park. There are also over 350 species of birds, 202 species of butterflies and over 200 species of trees at Bwindi.

Kibale Forest National Park Kibale has the greatest variety and concentration of primates in East Africa. One of the last strongholds of the red colobus, 12 other species present include L'Hoest's monkey, grey cheeked mangabey and chimpanzee. Chimp tracking an. birding are the main activities in Kibale Forest and the rare forest elephant or leopard may be seen. Mgahinga National Park Uganda's smallest park, covering an area of just 34 sq kms, located on the south western tip of the country on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, 51 0km from Kampala. Mgahinga is the second home to one of the remaining habitats of the mountain gorilla found on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains. Access to trekking the gorillas is strictly controlled, with only small groups being allowed at any one time and always accompa-nied by a professional game ranger. Booking must be made several months in advance. Other wildlife found in the park includes bushbuck, elephant, leopard, aardvark, honey badger. Jackal and a wealth of birdlife.

Kidepo Valley National Park The Kidepo Valley National Park is one of Uganda's most spectacular parks. It is 1,442 Tucked into the corner of Uganda's border with Sudan and Kenya, the park offers breathtaking Savannah landscapes, which end in rugged horizon.

A huge latitudinal range and corre-spondingly wide climatic conditions have evolved an extremely diverse flora. As a result the variety of animal species in the park is equally abun-dant including many which are found nowhere else in Uganda. The vegeta-tion can best be described as open tree Savannah which varies much in structure and composition. Mountain forest dominates some of the high places, while areas along the Lorupei River support dense Acacia geradi for-est. The flora and fauna of the park are more typical of Kenya than the rest

of Uganda. The landscape throughout the park is studded with small hills, rocky out-crops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions.

Murchison Falls national park The Park takes its name from a beautiful and powerful waterfall on the River Nile. The Park ',s a five hours drive by road from Kampala

and it is a remote and genuinely wild tropical terrain. The viewing combines a game drive through the savanna along the River Nile. Where huge herds of elephants, giraffes, lions and many more will constantly intercept your ride and a boat cruise where hippos will threaten to attack when protecting their young ones. You will also have a glimpse of the Crocodiles together with water birds which are frequent sites along the way.

Queen Elizabeth National Park The Queen Elizabeth National Park is a 5-6 hours drive from Kampala on the surfaced road via Mbarara it is found in the South Western part of Uganda near Kasese town it is a 5-6 hours drive from Kampala, on the surfaced road via Mbarara.
