Crawling: is the process by which bots/ spiders discover new and updated pages to be added to the Google Index. Bots crawl the web looking

at URLs from past search crawls and from Sitemap data provided by webmasters.

As a bot visits each site, they detect links on each site and add them to a list of pages to crawl.
