Throughout the course of the economic downturn a small group of mid-sized companies managed to thrive; it was this anomaly that peaked the curiosity of GE Capital’s executive team and led them to seek partnership with a top university to determine the cause of success. It is out of this partnership, with the Fisher College of Business, that a center would be created to become the global thought, practice and education leader on issues related to middle market (mm) companies.
Goals of the Center • Gain input and support around the major activities and outcomes of mm
companies • Drive the advancement of mm knowledge
The National Center for the Middle Market will become the leading source of knowledge, leadership, and innovative research in the U.S. middle market economy, providing critical insights and analysis that help provide growth, increased competitiveness and job creation for companies in this sector, policymakers and other key stakeholders.
