IntroductionConcept & Idea

• Concept was adopted during SMS 2011 when saw Harassmap.org, Refined after viewing ipaidabribe.com an Indian Website for logging Bribe reports in various Govt. departments.

• Mapacrime has been launched on August 27th, 2011

• Enable general public to report anonymously such unlawful incidents happening to them or if they have witnessed any act of crime and do not have courage to come forward and report it to law enforcement agencies due to fears.

• Gather crime related statistics, which may help to identify certain areas in a specific city or all over the country which have higher crime ratio.

Benefits• General public will come to report the

un-reported incidents without showing identity.

• Visual map will be helpful for law enforcement agencies, media and public to identify the areas with crime problem and ratio of crime in certain areas.

• It will also help different Govt. departments to rectify the problem of fraud, bribery and other criminal activities which are reason of bad impact for those departments such as traffic police, excise, railways etc, which have corruption in shape of bribe and fraud.

Market• This idea does not exist in

local and regional market till the time of its launch.

• Some Similar crime mapping websites are running in UK and USA but run by Govt and Police.

• It has a potential to be replicated in other countries like Bangladesh, Srilanka, India, Malaysia, Middle East etc as a Hosted Service.

Growth

•We expect every single Pakistani National who have access to Mobile, SMS or internet to become a Part of this platform.

•So it can grow up-to 60 million volunteers.

•We expect Law Agencies• (CPLC, Police) to get benefit• from this and Promote• its usage.

How to Use• It is very simple to use application with

various interfaces to report an incident.1. User can fill a simple online form in web

browser without disclosing his/her identity.

2. User can tweet the incident with specific twitter hash tag like #mapacrime, and system will automatically gather that for publishing on map.

3. SMS integration is also possible4. User can send the incident report on

specific email address and website staff will put that on map.
