Statement: Reduce the Carbon Footprint of the Michigan Tech community.
My Role in the Enterprise:
• Energy Savings-Buildings Team
• Current Project: Occupancy Sensors feasibility study

Details of Occupancy Sensors Project:
1. Gather lighting vs. occupancy data information for various rooms on campus using light logger device.
2. Compile data into Dollars and Sensors program
Outputs lighting and occupancy conditions for selected room. • Critical data: hours
lights left on while vacant.
3. Input critical data into spreadsheet along with room parameters, # of fixtures, # of circuits.
4. Make Cost-Benefit Analysis for each room (Cost of installing an occupancy sensor versus potential savings accumulated per year.
Green Campus Enterprise
Professional Experience of Occupancy Sensors Project:
• Work directly under Michigan Tech Administration providing key updates on projects and making high-impact recommendations
• Granted ~$10,000 last spring to implement occupancy sensors in classrooms, computer labs, and restrooms (Phase 1).
• Continuation of project to Fall 2010+Spring 2011; scope of project limited to research and teaching labs (Phase 2).
Community Service
Adopt-A-Highway-bi-annual clean-up with the Society for Environmental Engineering.
