Joseph Hundeby received his Bachelor's of Education from Iowa Wesleyan College, and then went on to receive a Master's of Education from the University of Minnesota, where his studies revolved around Teacher Leadership.

He is a Ph.D. candidate and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

He has also participated in classes relating to Behavior and learning intervention strategies, Educational technology and software, School improvement and change processes, Professional learning communities, and School improvement and technology.
