A Visit to the noodle factory “Teigwaren Riesa GmbH“

How to start a company?

The main idea was to support the workers in other factories in the economy district in Riesa.

The company is split in different departments like production, package, marketing and selling.

In the past they only had workers, now they mostly use machines for producing and

packaging, but of course they still have some workers to control the machines. They

cooperate with a large number of international partners, especially in Asia, because they also

produce Asian instant noodles. European partners are for instance Nestlé in Switzerland and

other food companies, which need noodles to create their own products. In the middle of

Teigwaren Riesa company logo there is the Giant of Riesa with a fork in his hand carrying a

noodle.

Marketing

Today we visited the noodle factory „Teigwaren Riesa GmbH“ in Riesa with our Comenius

group. There we could have a look at the production process. The main product of the com-

pany of course is noodles. There are the classic kinds of them but also some special and exotic

ones. In the marketing team there are mostly women who promote the company’s products.

The firm doesn't have any advertising on TV. But they are present in the internet and send

their brochures to firms with big company kitchens or to supermarkets and private consumers.

Additionally they hope that their products advertise for themselves because of the good qual-

ity.

Production process:

A new and modern processing is possible, thanks to big machines and experienced people.

The company uses natural products. For example they use the ink from the squid to color

special kinds of noodles. The factory produces different kinds of products, to attract

customers. There is for example a certain choice of different forms of noodles for children

like littke farm animals, but also for special occasions like hearts for a wedding soup and

many more. The company is popular because the quality of the products has convinced lots of

consumers abroad and in our country.

Advertising:

The local company called Teigwaren Riesa GmbH introduced their company structure and

their marketing strategies.

As the main products of the company are products of nutrition, there is a lot of competition on

the market. In order to stand out of the mass of available products, proper advertising is

necessary. Teigwaren Riesa's advertisement can mainly be found in visual and audio-visual

media such as the television and the internet. The commercials' content mainly focuses on

underlining the quality, frequently referring to the long company history. Their product variety

and price transparence are also main qualities that are being portrayed. The company's

internet presence contains updates on new products as well as an introduction of the company

and its staff. It is noticeable that there's a lot of effort put in increasing the company's image.

Presentation and sales

The company’s selling is organized like a typical factory selling. They have a special district

for selling and advertising. The products can be bought in a lot of different supermarkets, on

the internet and in the factory itself, because there is a special shop where you find all prod-

ucts but above all some products which are really special. The company takes part in interna-

tional fairs and sells their products only in food fairs. It is one of the biggest noodle manufac-

tories in Germany especially in the eastern part of Germany. The company works near the

costumers and they want the costumers to know what they are eating. They look for good

products in a high quality. In the marketing there are mostly women but also some men. The

manufactory doesn't have a TV spot but they promote their things on radio and in the internet

and on international fairs and with the so called `glass-production` and by word of mouth. We

liked the visit because we learned a lot and it was really interesting.
