OBJECTIVE

The objective of Energy Management for use of Fossils Fuels is to achieve and maintain optimum energy procurement and utilisation, throughout the organization and:

1. To minimise energy costs / waste without affecting production & quality

2. To minimise environmental effects.

Energy Management

• Energy management is the proactive, organized and systematic coordination of procurement, conversion, distribution and use of energy to meet the requirements, taking into account environmental and economic objectives.

FOSSILS FUELS

• Fossil fuels are non renewable fuels formed by natural processes such as anaerobic decomposition of buried dead organisms.

• Eg. Coal , petroleum , and natural gas

Why to Conserve?

• We have limited fuels available on earth.• Our demand for energy is increasing day-

by-day. • It is possible that someday, most of fuels

will be exhausted, and we will have to switch over to alternate energy.

Limited Fuels

• At present consumption levels- • Crude oil will last only for 40 years. • Gas will last for 60 years. • Coal will be finished in nearly 200 years.

Ever thought of life without oil and gas?

Increasing Consumption

• Furthermore, our consumption is increasing day-by-day.

• This means fuels will last much earlier than expected.

• The only solution is …..

ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Steps for Energy Management

1. Metering your energy consumption and collecting the data.

2. Finding opportunities to save energy.3. Taking action to target the opportunities to

save energy.

Benefits of energy management

-decreased energy consumption - lower energy costs - profit increase - lower environmental impact

-less impact of energy prices increase

CONCLUSION

Energy, like any resource, can be managed. Energy management is the key to saving energy in an organisation. It is said that if we cannot measure it, we cannot control it and if we cannot control it, we cannot manage it!
