Why is Oil Fouling Bad? Refrigeration systems with mechanical compressors circulate 1-5%

of their compressor lubricating oil with the refrigerant that is circulated throughout the system

This re-circulating oil over time forms a sticky/lacquer-like substance, which fills the pores of the copper tubing carrying the refrigerant to and from the evaporator and condenser, over and over again during the refrigeration cycle…

Due to the insulating properties of oil, the oil insulates the heat transfer to the metal tubing walls impeding heat exchange.

SO HOW DOES EnerFreeze™ WORK?

There are two major compounds in a cooling system: refrigerant and lubricating oil. In theory, the oil remains in the compressor, but in practice, the oil and refrigerant form a solution that carries oil throughout the system together with the refrigerant. As the solution comes in contact with the metallic heat transfer surfaces of the cooling coils, the oil separates from the solution and builds up on the surface of the inner walls. This oil build-up on the walls of the cooling coils tends to act as a layer of insulation. Consequently, heat transfer is not as efficient as it was previously.

Metals, as well as EnerFreeze™, have a polar charge that is positive or negative like the ends of a magnet. With metals having a positive charge, EnerFreeze™ strong negatively charged molecules seek out the positively charged metal and displaces the oil build up on the surface (which does not have a charge).

The negatively charged EnerFreeze™ attaches to all the metal surfaces in the system (coils, pistons, bearings) and forms a one molecule thick layer that allows for enhanced thermal transfer to take place, restoring the system to like new capacity.

This layer increases the ability of the compressor to force refrigerant throughout the coils more easily. This enhancement is described as "laminar flow dynamics" and is like an angioplasty for your coils. Cholesterol build up makes your heart work harder and oil fouling makes your compressor work harder, thus reducing refrigerant/oil flow and heat exchange.

Technical Information

Through metallurgical thermodynamics and metal surface chemistry, EnerFreeze™ is designed to improve the efficiency of heat exchangers. It is this improvement in the coefficient of heat exchange that increases efficiency and provides savings.

When the equipment cycles off, oil drains from metal surfaces in the compressor. This layer of oil, or boundary film, between moving parts is likely to be broken. Fortunately, EnerFreeze-Auto’s ionic polar bond keeps the friction reducing properties adhered to the metal parts and is protecting these parts even when the oil is not present. With the frictional, static load of the compressor at start reduced and the operational run-time load reduced the overall service required by the compressor is shaved; further enhancing savings. In addition, there is less wear and tear on the equipment; extending the life of the equipment and lowering maintenance costs.

Delivers enhanced refrigerant pool boiling properties temperatures which causes the thermostat to reach set temperature targets quicker and shut off the AC system, therefore reducing energy consumption and reduced wear on the compressor. This effect will also remove more humidity in shorter run cycles; providing dryer, more comfortably conditioned air.

A Specially engineered molecular structure displaces the oil fouling and replaces it with a molecule that bonds to the metal surfaces.

The new bonded molecules will not allow the oil to re-attach, increasing heat transfer for the life of the system.

Once removed from the inside of the coils, this oil then circulates freely through the system where it is needed..

This accelerates refrigerant laminar flow dynamics by removing oil fouling from walls.

WHAT MAKES EnerFreeze™ RTO FORMULATION TECHNOLOGY DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE MARKET THAT MAKE SIMILAR CLAIMS?

All other market place competitors are Stage 1 products that reverse oil fouling in the system in the short term. EnerFreeze™ comprises advanced patent pending formulations which, after the initial introduction takes place, permanently imbeds in the pores of the metal and fuses; bonding to the friction-bearing parts of the compressor and inner walls of the thermal transfer tubing carrying the refrigerant and compressor oil.

The fused molecules are now in an inert state in which nothing can chemically react or stick to the new surface. Oil fouling at this point is no longer possible. WHY IS MY LOCAL AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY UNFAMILIAR WITH EnerFreeze™?

Although there have been many attempts over the years to engineer energy effective additives, only recently has the true “Stage 2” Refrigeration Optimizing Treatment formulation of EnerFreeze™ been developed, successfully tested and made available to the commercial HVAC engineering trade. Having extensive geographical/climatic opportunities, initial beta tests were conducted in the warmer latitudes of the South/Southeastern U.S. It has been proven to be safe and effective through laboratory compatibility testing.

HAS EnerFreeze™ BEEN TESTED IN THE PROFESSIONAL HVAC ARENA?

Yes, EnerFreeze™ formulations have been tested by one of the preeminent HVAC laboratories in existence, Edison Testing Lab/Intertek. There were two separate tests:

1. EnerFreeze™ underwent a compatibility test, which tested and proved that EnerFreeze™ does “no harm” to any of the parts of the HVAC system, whether they be compressor parts, copper tubes or in the air handler side.

2. EnerFreeze™ was tested in a sterile, isolated lab setting in which two brand new compressors were tracked, side by side. “Before” baseline measurements were taken and tracked in both compressors. After EnerFreeze-2000 was injected into the “test” compressor for a period of 48-hours, the “After” computer measurements were compared between the treated compressors for a period of 48-hours. Virtually all results showed positive reactions in the EnerFreeze™ treated compressor. (and you must remember that EnerFreeze™ can take 1-3 weeks to fully integrate.
