At the age of five, while he was playing with his older brother, his legs unexpectedly going down and losing strength. He was unable to walk anymore. He was completely paralyzed, from neck down. Dr Jose Poulose was diagnosed with Poliomyelitis, the devastating neuromuscular disorder. The doctor had told his dad that there was very little hope left for his condition. A few months passed and his family get to know about a Homeopathic doctor near Manipal, India, who treated his condition. With the help of Homeopathic treatement, he was able to walk normally by the age of 6 years old. While he face many troubles in life to recover. By God’s grace, He got accepted to Medical School through the Karnataka State Entrance Test. God has enabled him to pick up again and kept him in pace throughout the journey of life walking the walk to inspire and boost others. Carrying broad knowledge and skill, Dr Jose Poulose has picked up many opportunities in treating the patients in different parts of the world, provided the best healthcare services. He has travelled to different countries to help the poor people. While during his carrier, he got many awards and achievements. About his career, Dr Poulose Worked at CMC hospital, Vellore, India-1993-95 for a limited salary generally due to his devotion to help the poor. In 2004, Dr Poulose travelled to Tanzania where he observed a despondent state of healthcare in Tanzania. So, Dr Jose Poulose decided to help them by raising funds of $10000. Thereafter, that money was used in completing a stalled clinic project at Morogoro, Tanzania. In later years, this clinic has grown as a successful clinic which presently serves hundreds of patients. The infant and maternal mortality rates are very high in this region. After observing the success of the clinic and the improved state of healthcare in the region, he has a great desire to establish more such clinics in the needy areas to help poor people.
