Church as the Body of Christ, as a sheepfold, as the kingdom of God, and as the kingdom of heaven.

As the community of believers, the Church is the assembly (ekklesia) of all who believe in Jesus Christ; or the fellowship (koinonia) of all who are bound together by their common love for the Savior.

Earlier in His public ministry He had instituted the sacraments, chosen the twelve apostles, instructed them by word and example, and conferred on them the power of teaching, ruling, and sanctifying.

By the marks of the Church we mean certain clear signs by which all men can recognize it as the true Church founded by Jesus Christ.
