• China: 513,000,000 • India: 121,000,000• Japan: 101,228,736• Indonesia: 55,000,000• South Korea: 40,329,660• Vietnam: 30,516,587• Philippines: 29,700,000• Pakistan: 29,128,970• Thailand: 18,310,000• Malaysia: 17,723,000
44 per cent of all online users are in Asia, with China accounting for over 500 million people.
Asia’s share of the world’s online population continues to grow as the population, education and financial independence continues to grow as well. It is predicted to reach over 50% by the end of 2012.
Half the Indian consumers (50%) use social media sites to help them make online purchase decisions.
63% Social Networking users in China by 2014
China is the most socially-engaged market in the world, with 84% of Internet users contributing at least once a month to either social networking, blogging, video-uploading, photo-sharing, micro-blogging etc.
It is followed by Russia, Brazil and India
7/10 Southeast Asian consumers have liked or followed a brand on social media, compared to a global average of 52%
