2014 is shaping up to be an amazing year for M&A. According to Thomson Reuters, worldwide deal activity is up 73% over H1 2013, and cross-border M&A has doubled. We've seen a number of mega deals announced, with Facebook, Apple, and Google all putting their excess cash to work. The pharmaceuticals and telecommunications industries have also been very busy, with the proposed Comcast/Time Warner deal sparking much debate.
