For the past two years, our designers and engineers have been

on an unforgettable ride, challenged with creating the next

icon of the road from America's original motorcycle company.

No small task. The process was part evolution and part

revolution. It was about staying true to the ideology set forth

by Indian Motorcycle®® founders in 1901, while breaking the

mold of the industry to ensure our new bikes were equipped

with cutting-edge technological advancements. From dream

to sketch to CAD to clay to prototypes to testing to assembly

in our new home in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the entire journey was,

and is, history in the making.

The Thunder Stroke™ 111 is inspired by famous power plants from our company’s

storied past. It is rich in both style and power, displaying the same finning as on

Chief® motorcycles of the 1940s. As for power, the air-cooled 49-degree V-twin

is more than capable of leading the pack, delivering a thunderous amount of

torque. Parallel push rods and the down-firing exhaust provide further evidence that

the Thunder Stroke 111 is definitely in touch with its roots. Built from

the ground up and with more than 3.2 million kilometres of dyno and on-road

testing, it is the engine that will power Indian Motorcycle® into the future. Definitive

proof that America’s original motorcycle company is back. And here to stay.

Oscar Hedstrom and George Hendee have been gone

for 70 years, but that didn’t stop our founders from helping

us build the new Indian® Chief® motorcycles. Inspired by

the same visionary spirit that created some of the most iconic

bikes to grace the road, the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage

and Chieftain™ unite true Indian style with today’s advanced

bike-building technology. Valanced fenders with a chrome

War Bonnet, vintage inspired dash and the newly engineered

Thunder Stroke™ 111 engine. All assembled to create bikes

that would make our founders proud.
