According to filmsite, Horror Films are unsettling films designed to frighten and

panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a

terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience.

What I believe a horror film is…• Horror films should lure the audience in and

invoke terror in them.• Horror films should cause an unsettling fear

that makes our presumptions of what’s going to happen true or… take a turn for the worst.

• Horror films should make people’s worst nightmare a reality.

• They all have similar elements that cause a fear among us, such as…

• Death, the dark, insects and rodents, weird places, intense music, disfigurement, psychological elements and ghouls/monsters

Annabelle• Annabelle is a successful horror movie with a

worldwide gross of $256,873,813• This horror movie made a breakthrough.• Plot: A husband thinks he's found the perfect

gift for his pregnant wife: a vintage doll in a beautiful white dress. Although the doll wasn’t what it seemed to be. One terrible night, devil worshippers invade their home and launch a violent attack against the couple.

• This film was successful as it seemed different. It evokes terror as it goes from a sweet innocent doll to a creature belonging to hell.
