Description:

The Image is A Linen Art Canvas. The picture shows the detail of the texture. The look of the texture is what is the favored by the painters as the linen's "NATURAL WEAVED FINISH". Here the Linen Canvas looks rather smooth as in the FINE, TIGHT WEAVE grade of the art linen used for a PORTRAIT.The Canvas is unprimed. There is nothing painted on the canvas. The Canvas looks aged, there's a hole in it. A small face is peeking through this hole, as if from the other side of the canvas.

The canvas space shapes up a larger face hidden underneath. The size of a hidden face is almost same as the picture space. The Phantom Face illusion is organically formed with the slight wrinkles and stretches of the "old" canvas. But there is another face that could be noticed at a closer look. It forms during this contemplative process of seeing the hidden. IT IS QUITE REMARKABLE HOW THE CANVAS SPACE OF THIS ARTWORK HOLDS THE IMAGES. They seem to want to remain the part of the canvas's surface and not to be REVEALED. Stylistically the work gives a lot, considering the modesty and laconic wholeness of the image. It communicates with the viewer on various levels.
