• The picture I selected for the double page spread was shot in the school setting. It was large enough to cover two pages and continued the theme of the front page. All the editing I did was simply to crop the bottom out.

• I then used to shape tool to insert three rectangles. To make sure the faded into the background I increased their opacity. The text tool was then used to go over them writing in white to contrast to the black background. These quotes match the research I did into double page spreads as they were a key feature.

• This was my finished first draft which looked very similar to the research I had done, the article to the left text dominating the right side.

• As evidenced here my own double page spread resembled those that I had researched meaning it would be successful in appealing to an audience.

• In order to gain criticism and progress the look of the double page spread I appealed again to social media. The above criticism made me revisit the double page with a new perspective.

• In response I added two images to the top and bottom of my article making the page more interesting to the eye. These were simply inserted from my photo shoot.

FEEDBACK ON THE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

• Exactly the same as the first page in order to make sure there were no adjustments to be made to the final magazine I showed 30 people the final draft. There ages ranged from 8-42 my predicted target audience for the magazine. The pie chart below displays the results. The question was “Does this double page spread appeal to you?”
