All Channel 4 documentary promotions tend to stick to a similar format.

This includes a logo – centred on the right hand side and then the title of the show and scheduled day and time directly underneath it.The poster on the left promoted the C4 doc ‘The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off’. As the man featured, Jonny, had passed on when this documentary was repeated, they have played with the poster using his ‘spirit’. They have used graphics which represent a ‘scrap book’ of his life.

This type of advert is used for simplicity and to purely promote the show without using images to persuade the reader. This is a format used which is popular for many C4 shows and could be used for our documentary extract. A simple tag line is used to accompany the title as and the scheduled time.

C4 also use portrait print adverts, for example on the left. Once again it sticks to the conventions of the C4 advert with logo, title and scheduled time.

This advert also allows space for the sponsorship to be promoted.
