• Batik Gedog Tuban has a unique is batik-making process is the same as the process of batik, which sets it apart is the fabric used is a woven fabric gedog. This fabric has a thickness thicker than ordinary cotton batik cloth. Batik Gedog designation comes from the sound of “dog-dog” loom fabric.

The process of making Gedog batik

Batik is a technique of painting on fabric, where the fabric will be decorated with textures and patterns by hand. In the manufacture of writing abtik used a tool called a canting. batik in making the necessary expertise, experience, accuracy, patience and also a long time to complete batik.

The stages in the process of making batik, namely:a) The first stage or also called

batik process first, which manufacture the desired pattern and motif in above white fabric (silk) painted with a pencil.

b) The second phase, which is painted with wax using canting to follow the pattern that has existed on both sides (back and forth)

c) The third stage, which is covered with wax parts that will remain colored white (colorless)

d) The fourth stage, the first coloring process on the part that is not covered by wax by dipping the cloth in a certain color

e) The fifth stage, after immersion, the fabric is dried and dried

f) The sixth stage, after drying, re-do the batik process is to wax using canting to cover parts that will be retained in the first coloring

g) Then proceed with the second color dyeing process subsequent processes, removes wax from the fabric by means of placing the cloth with hot water on the stove

h) After a clean cloth of wax and dry, it can be done again with a cover of wax batik process (using canting to hold the first color second)

i) The process of closing the candle night and can be done repeatedly in accordance with the number of colors and kompelksitasdesired motif.
