Each year my teaching team takes our students to an old growth forest in Norway, Maine to study some of the largest white pines in the northeast.

Welcome to Ordway Grove. Located in Norway, Maine

Old GrowthWhite Pine.Some of these trees have circumferences of over 13 feet, and heights of up to 150 feet tall.

Some of the trees are more than 250 years old.

Old trees die,allowing newtrees to grow.

This forest has been preserved since 1789 and has trees of all sizes and species, from old growth to new growth.

Tree-hugging is contagious. It spreads from person to person. This individual hugged over 50 trees while in the forest, and I caught most of the hugs on camera!
